Alegría Sanchis is a seasoned professional in community engagement and social media management, currently serving as Senior Manager of Community Engagement at The OpEd Project since January 2020. Sanchis has held various roles within the organization, including Manager of Community Engagement and Social Media and Mentor-Editor Manager, contributing to its mission of diversifying voices in media. Prior experience includes working as a Social Media Manager for the Solidarity Book Project at Amherst College and internships at Atresmedia and Afuera Producciones, where Sanchis gained skills in editing, photography, and marketing. A graduate of the University of Navarra with a degree in Bilingual Audiovisual Communication, Sanchis also enhanced communication expertise at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Multimedia Communication, Media, and Journalism.

The OpEd Project is a social venture and leadership organization, founded to change who writes history. We are a community of journalists, thought leaders, and change agents who actively share knowledge, resources, and connections across color, creed, class, sexuality, gender, ability, and beyond. Through our nationally-recognized curriculum, our team of journalist mentors, and through a portfolio of programs in partnership with leading institutions across the nation and the globe, we accelerate the ideas and impact of underrepresented voices, including women of all backgrounds.
