Open Home Foundation
Paulus Schoutsen is a technology leader and advocate for privacy and sustainability in smart home technology. As President of Open Home Foundation since April 2024 and CEO of Nabu Casa since September 2018, Paulus focuses on developing privacy-centric smart home solutions. Paulus also founded Home Assistant in September 2013, an open-source platform that prioritizes local control. Previous experience includes roles as a Senior Software Engineer at Ubiquiti Networks and AppFolio Inc., co-founding the non-profit 1 euro per dag, and leading development efforts at the University of Twente. Paulus holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, both from the University of Twente.
