Peter Welinder is an experienced technology professional who has worked for several notable companies over the years. Peter currently serves as the VP of Product & Partnerships at OpenAI, where they oversee the company's product and commercialization efforts. Prior to this role, they held various positions at Dropbox, including Head of Machine Learning and Software Engineer Tech Lead. Peter also co-founded and served as CEO of Anchovi Labs, which was acquired by Dropbox in 2012. Additionally, Welinder has worked as a Technical Advisor for Basis Set Ventures, evaluating and advising early-stage companies. At OpenAI, they were a founding member of the Robotics research effort, where they helped train a robot hand to solve a Rubik's Cube.
Peter Welinder received their BSc in Theoretical Physics from Imperial College London, which they attended from 2004 to 2007. From 2007 to 2012, they pursued a Ph.D. in Computation and Neural Systems at Caltech.
