Tarun Gogineni

Tarun Gogineni is a Machine Learning Researcher at OpenAI since December 2022, specializing in applied AI research. Previously, Tarun served as a Founding Scientist at Atomic AI, focusing on RNA structure prediction, and worked at Facebook as a Machine Learning Engineer, where Tarun significantly enhanced global ad revenue through recommender systems. Academic experience includes a research role at the University of Michigan, where Tarun led a project resulting in a NeurIPS publication, and served as a Graduate Student Instructor. Prior internships include software engineering roles at Instagram, Facebook, Deepfield, and the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams. Tarun holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and a B.S.E. in Computer Science and Physics from the University of Michigan.
