Dave Smith

Dave Smith has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles.

- From 2022 to present, they are employed as a Software Engineer at OpenEye.

- From 2016 to 2022, they worked at Key Technology, Inc. as a Configuration Management Engineer. In this role, they maintained the logic base and configuration system for optical sorter equipment, managed costing for Sales Engineers, and acted as a liaison between Design and Manufacturing engineering teams.

- In 2016, Dave worked as a Junior Software Engineer at MousePaw Media, where they developed in-house tools for game asset creation and managed contributions via version control systems.

- From 2015 to 2016, they were a Mechanical Design Engineer at Power Handling, Inc, responsible for developing and maintaining SolidWorks CAD models of company products and prototypes, as well as building prototypes for new features.

- Dave holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, where they conducted research on the application of machining for mechanical property measurement. Dave also worked as a Teaching Assistant, overseeing lab projects and assisting students with coursework from 2012 to 2015.

Dave Smith completed their Bachelor of Science in Software Development from Western Governors University from 2018 to 2021. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Manufacturing Engineering from Purdue University between 2012 and 2015. Dave also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washington State University, which they obtained from 2008 to 2012. In terms of certifications, they obtained the CompTIA Project+ certification from CompTIA in July 2020, followed by the ITIL Foundation Level certification from PeopleCert in August 2019. In January 2019, Dave earned the CIW User Interface Designer certification from Certification Partners (CIW), and in November 2018, they obtained the CIW Advanced HTML5 and CSS3 Specialist certification. Dave also holds the CIW Site Development Associate certification, which they obtained in October 2018. Additionally, Dave worked as an Engineering Intern at NCEES and obtained the Engineering Intern certification in January 2014. Finally, they obtained the CompTIA A+ certification from CompTIA in July 2018.
