Jonathan Bender

Jonathan Bender is an accomplished executive in the music industry, currently serving as the Chief Operating and Strategy Officer at OpenPlay since January 2021, where the focus is on providing infrastructure solutions for music-related companies. Bender's previous role as Chief Operating Officer at SoundExchange from 2011 to February 2020 involved significant enhancements in royalty distribution, resulting in a tripling of annual payouts to $1 billion. Additional experience includes serving as Principal at Outpost Partners, Senior Vice President of Operations and Information Technology at Concord Music Group, Vice President of Digital Asset Management and Logistics at Universal Music Group, and Sr. Director of New Technology at EMI Music. Bender holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in English Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
