Lily Kass is an accomplished scholar and instructor specializing in musicology and opera. Currently serving as Scholar in Residence at Opera Philadelphia since January 2018, Kass also fulfills roles as Curriculum Consultant at The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University and Lecturer in Musicology at both The Johns Hopkins University and Temple University. Previous experience includes Adjunct Instructor positions at the University of Pennsylvania and West Chester University of Pennsylvania, as well as Co-founder and Artistic Director of Rodin Opera Scenes at the University of Pennsylvania. As a freelance opera translator, Kass has worked on notable productions, contributing to both translations and supertitles. Kass holds a Ph.D. in Music from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Harvard University.
