David Evans

David Evans has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. David is currently employed at Optos as a Lead Optical Systems Engineer since November 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Engineer - Optical Systems at Optos from December 2019 to November 2021. Before joining Optos, David worked as a Senior Research Engineer - Imaging Systems at Optos from May 2017 to December 2019.

David also has significant experience in academia. David worked as a Senior Research Associate at The University of Edinburgh from July 2014 to May 2017. During this time, they were responsible for designing and developing a custom built single molecule time correlated single photon counting (TCSPC ) microscope and single molecule fluorescence assays. David also contributed to software development for various projects.

Additionally, David has served as an Independent Consultant at Siemens Technology Accelerator from March 2014 to August 2014. David was involved in providing consultancy services during this tenure.

Prior to that, David worked as a Senior Scientist at SESMOS Ltd from October 2011 to March 2014. This company focused on the development of a novel integrated screening and validation process for drug discovery. David played a key role in utilizing miniaturized small molecule libraries and biophysical screening technologies for this purpose.

Before joining SESMOS Ltd, David worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) / University of Karlsruhe (TH) from April 2010 to October 2011, and at the University of Leeds from April 2009 to April 2010.

David Evans earned their PhD in Electronic Engineering & Biophysics from the University of Leeds, where they attended from 2005 to 2009. David also obtained a certification as a Certified SAFe® 5 Product Owner/Product Manager from Scaled Agile, Inc. in March 2023.
