Benjamin Thengvall has extensive work experience in the field of optimization and analytics. Benjamin started their career in 1997 as an Instructor at the University of Texas at Austin. From 1998 to 2005, they worked as an Operations Research Scientist at Navitaire, where they created mathematical models and software to manage airline irregular operations and manpower planning problems. Benjamin then joined OptTek Systems, Inc. in 2005 as an Optimization Architect and later became the Vice President of Government Solutions in 2014. Currently, they serve as the Chief Operating Officer at OptTek Systems, leading project teams and delivering R&D and production software solutions to defense and commercial customers. Additionally, they have also worked as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2008.
Benjamin Thengvall completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 1991 to 1995. Benjamin then pursued their Ph.D. in Operations Research at The University of Texas at Austin, from 1995 to 1999.
