Omar al Riyami

Omar Al Riyami serves as the Head of Sustainability at OQGN since July 2022 and as a Board Member for the Environment Society of Oman since March 2023. Prior to these roles, Omar held positions including Manager of Sustainability at OQ, Lead Environment Engineer at Duqm Refinery, and Environment and Sustainable Development Advisor at Petroleum Development Oman. Experience includes conducting ISO14001 audits, developing Environmental Management Plans, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Additionally, Omar has contributed to community outreach programs focusing on environmental awareness and engagement, with a robust background in environmental monitoring and consulting. Omar holds a Master of Science in Environmental Impact Assessment and Management from The University of Manchester and a Bachelor's degree in Marine Sciences and Fisheries from Sultan Qaboos University.
