Chris Moore is an accomplished Earth Observation Data Scientist currently working at Ordnance Survey since October 2023, where the focus is on utilizing remote sensing and machine learning to derive actionable insights from Earth Observation data for customer decision-making. Prior to this role, Chris served as the Earth Observation Lead Adviser at Natural England from September 2020 to October 2023, utilizing radar and optical remote sensing for habitat classification within the Living England project, which won the 2023 RSPSoc Business Innovation Award. Chris's academic background includes a Visiting Research Fellow position at the University of Leeds from October 2016 to September 2023, researching volcanic and tectonic activity through satellite radar, along with a PhD in Geophysics focused on SAR Remote Sensing and Volcanology. Chris holds both a Master of Geophysics and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Leeds, alongside an educational foundation from the Anthony Gell School.
