Weiqian Dai has over 20 years of work experience in the technology industry. Weiqian began their career in 1995 as a Senior System Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin. In 1996, they worked as a Software Consultant at Motorola, where they designed and implemented features for NetPlan software package. In 1997, they joined Lucent Technologies as a Member of Technical Staff, where they designed and implemented call processing features for mobile switch center, implemented new features for Cellular Network Analyzer tool, and lead the Wireless Number Portability (WNP) design and implementation team. In 1999, they joined CISCO as a Senior Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented next generation 100 G LC on Host Packet Interface (HPI) for CRS project and designed, implemented and tested devices for GSR Packet Router processor (new generation PRP) under QNX real time operating system environment. In 2008, they joined FutuerWei Technologies as a Senior Research Staff Engineer, where they prototyped Interface and user management under the Symmetric Networking Processor Environment (SNP-192 cores, each core with 8 hardware threads) for the Next Generation GGSN project and worked on the Singularity Project for the Next Generation Aggregation Router (AR). In 2012, they joined Aruba Networks as a Senior Staff Engineer, where they designed and implemented the Aruba Controller Datapath in Virtualized Environment with VMXNET3 NIC adapter/vNet adapter working over KVM and VMware ESXi hypervisor, multicast optimization and modified the RED for efficiently handle the multicast traffic in the WIFI networking environment, and implemented controller with new type wifi tunnel (with striping ip) to support the 2 Gig performance with uplink only 2 one gig interfaces on 11AC (wave2) APs. In 2015, they joined Fortinet as a Sr. Principal Engineer, where they designed and implemented the FortiGate connector with Cisco SDN solution - application centric infrastructure (ACI) and the FortiGate-VM with Linux Kernel in Userspace (LKL) to increase the performance. Finally, in 2017, they joined Ordr Inc. as a Software Engineer.

Weiqian Dai received a Master's degree in Computer Science from Concordia University, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Computer Science from the same university.
