Heather Knight is an Assistant Professor of Robotics and Computer Science at Oregon State University since August 2017, where Heather leads the CHARISMA robotics research lab focused on collaborative human-robot interaction, sociability, machine learning, and art. As the founder of Marilyn Monrobot, a robot theater company, Knight integrates human and robotic actors in live performances with innovative sensor technologies. Previous roles include Robotic Artist in Residence at X, the moonshot factory, and postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University, with a focus on social robotics design methods. Knight's engineering experience spans positions at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Aldebaran Robotics, and the educational background includes a PhD in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University and multiple degrees from MIT in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, as well as Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
