Chad Harmon

Area Supervisor-africa at Oregon Zoo

Chad Harmon is an experienced animal care professional with a robust background in zoological management and animal husbandry. Currently serving as the Area Supervisor-Africa at Oregon Zoo since October 2023, Chad oversees the care of various African species including black rhinos, giraffes, and lions. Chad is also a member of the Board of Directors for the International Rhino Keeper Association. Previously, extensive experience includes roles such as Primary Zookeeper for rhinos at Woodland Park Zoo, Zoological Manager at Disney's Animal Kingdom, and participation in the creation of The Horns and Heroes Project, Inc. Chad's early career includes positions as a zookeeper at SeaWorld and Disney's Animal Kingdom, with a foundational background in design and visual communications from Bryant & Stratton College and The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale.
