Douglas Schneider has extensive work experience in technical support and database administration roles. Douglas started their career in 1990 as an MLS/Metro Supervisor at the Oakland Association of REALTORS and later became a Customer Support Team Leader at East Bay Regional Data. In 1996, they joined the California Culinary Academy as a Network Administrator/Technical Support. From 2000 to 2001, they worked as a Systems Specialist/Database Administrator at Loopnet, followed by a role as a Business Systems Analyst at Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold from 2001 to 2005. In 2005, they joined Legacy Marketing Group as a Technical Support professional and later worked at Intelisys as a Database Administrator from 2006 to 2007. Douglas then joined Safari Books Online (O'Reilly Media, Inc.) as a Technical Support specialist from 2007 to 2013. During this time, they provided phone and chat-based technical support, conducted piracy and fraud investigations, and was the go-to support for technical and customer service. Since 2013, they have been working at O'Reilly Media as a Content Coordinator for the Content Support Team.

From 1987 to 1989, Douglas Schneider attended Heald College, where they obtained an Associate of Applied Science degree in Electronics.
