James Flynn

James Flynn is chief executive officer (CEO) of Lument, responsible for the firm’s management and strategic direction. Jim was CEO at Lument’s predecessor, Hunt Real Estate Capital. Under his leadership, Hunt’s servicing portfolio grew by more than $3 billion and annual originations increased by 80%.

Prior to his current role, Jim managed capital raising, business development, and asset management of Hunt’s predecessor entity, Centerline Capital Group. He co-led the group responsible for a portfolio of more than $8 billion in equity on affordable multifamily assets and managed the special servicing, REO, and asset management units.

Prior to Hunt and Centerline, Jim practiced law at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in its real estate practice group. Before that, he was an investment banker at Lehman Brothers.

Jim holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a Juris Doctor from Columbia University.
