Enrique Porras, Ph.D. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of reservoir engineering. Enrique began their career as a WellField Engineer at ENEL, Nicaragua in 1990, where they specialized in enthalpy, steam, brine, and two-phase flow calculations, as well as production and reservoir monitoring. In 1995, they joined INTERGEOTERM as a Well Test Engineer, gaining expertise in flow tests, pressure transient tests, downhole pressure and temperature monitoring, and two-phase flow wellbore simulations.
Enrique then worked as a Well testing engineer at DAL SpA in 1996, further expanding their knowledge in well testing. Enrique later joined ENEL Nicaragua in 1997 as a Field Manager, continuing to enhance their field management skills. In 1999, Enrique joined Ormat Technologies, Inc. as a Field Manager, and later took on roles such as Senior Reservoir Engineer, Chief Reservoir Engineer, Manager of International Support for International Projects of ORMAT Technologies, and Principal Reservoir Engineer.
Throughout their career, Enrique has demonstrated a strong aptitude for reservoir engineering and has developed expertise in various aspects of the field.
Enrique Porras, Ph.D. has an extensive and diverse education history. In 1991, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Geothermal Energy from the United Nations University. In the same year, they also completed a Postgraduate Degree on Geothermal Energy from the Geothermal Training Course at UNU Iceland. In 1992, they pursued a Posgrado en simulacion de flujo bifasico en tuberias verticales de pozos geotermicos (Postgraduate in two-phase flow simulation in vertical geothermal well pipes) from LaGeo, El Salvador. In 1993, they attended Kyushu University for a Posgrado en geotermia (Postgraduate in geothermal energy). Later on, from 2002 to 2005, they achieved a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Ingeniería (Engineering) and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Geothermal Reservoir Engineer from Kyushu University.

With over five decades of experience, Ormat Technologies, Inc. is a leading geothermal Company and the only vertically integrated Company engaged in geothermal and recovered energy generation (REG), with the objective of becoming a leading global provider of renewable energy. The Company owns, operates, designs, manufactures and sells geothermal and REG power plants primarily based on the Ormat Energy Converter – a power generation unit that converts low-, medium- and high-temperature heat into electricity. With 77 U.S. patents, Ormat’s power solutions have been refined and perfected under the most grueling environmental conditions. Ormat has 530 employees in the United States and 770 overseas. Ormat’s flexible, modular solutions for geothermal power and REG are ideal for the vast range of resource characteristics. The Company has engineered, manufactured and constructed power plants, which it currently owns or has installed to utilities and developers worldwide, totaling over 2,600 MW of gross capacity. Ormat’s current 851 MW generating portfolio is spread globally in the United States, Guatemala, Guadeloupe, Honduras, Indonesia and Kenya. In March 2017, Ormat expanded its operations to provide energy storage and energy management solutions by leveraging its core capabilities and global presence, as well as through its Viridity Energy Solutions Inc. subsidiary, a Philadelphia-based Company with nearly a decade of expertise and leadership in energy storage, demand response and energy management.
