Simon Webbison has a strong background in the energy industry, with a focus on geothermal operations. Simon worked at Ormat Technologies, Inc. as the Vice President of Exploration & Resource Management, where they oversaw operational geothermal fields and managed an exploration portfolio of geothermal prospects. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Reservoir Management and Resource Manager - Indonesia at Ormat, where they developed the company's subsurface technical team outside of the US and contributed to growth in Indonesia. Before joining Ormat, Simon worked at Mercury as the Geothermal Subsurface Operations Manager and Geochemist, overseeing geothermal generation and working on various projects related to geothermal field development and steam purity measurement systems. Simon began their career at Genesis Energy as an Industrial Chemist, where they gained experience in water treatment, gas detection, and cooling water chemistry management.
Simon Webbison has a MSc(Hons) degree in Chemistry from The University of Waikato. Simon also holds a BSc degree in Chemistry from the same university. Additionally, they have completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies at The University of Waikato.
