Travis Jeffery

Travis Jeffery has a diverse work experience in software engineering. Travis currently holds the position of Principal Engineer at Oscilar Inc since 2021. Prior to this, Travis worked at Confluent as a Staff Software Engineer from 2017 to 2021. During their time there, they played a significant role in building and designing Confluent Cloud, focusing on synchronous gRPC request-response and async Kafka messaging flows.

Before joining Confluent, Travis worked at Segment.com as a Tech Lead from 2014 to 2016. Travis was one of the early engineers at the company and contributed to scaling infrastructure and improving the API capabilities. In addition, Travis incorporated the Jobs-to-be-Done framework into the team's workflow.

Travis also worked at Basecamp as a Tech Lead from 2013 to 2014, where they led the development of new products and features, including the messaging system in Basecamp 3 and mobile apps. Travis also provided training on mobile and OS development techniques to the Basecamp team. Prior to this, Travis served as a Prototyper at Basecamp, working on web and native mobile/desktop software.

Furthermore, Travis worked as a Lead Software Engineer at Pilot (EIR team at Jet Cooper) from 2012 to 2013, where they played a crucial role in the development of Rocketr's iPhone application and web API. Travis quickly transitioned into a leadership role in iOS app development.

Travis began their career as a Software Engineer at Nulogy in 2011, working on front and backend development, with a focus on Ruby/Rails. Travis was part of a team that developed PackManager's Intelligent Code Generation functionality.

Finally, Travis started their career at TalentEgg as a Software Developer in 2008. Travis was responsible for the administration system and made significant improvements to the backend and frontend using Python/Django and modern web standards.
