Chief Engineer, Heavy Combat Vehicles at Oshkosh Defense

Jim Lemmer is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in the design and development of military vehicles and refuse truck bodies. Currently serving as the Chief Engineer for Heavy Combat Vehicles at Oshkosh Defense, LLC since February 2006, Jim leads engineering efforts for the Stryker MCWS variant and has played a significant role in the MRAP vehicle development, particularly supporting the M-ATV program from 2009 to 2023. Prior to this, Jim worked as a Project Engineer at Leach Company / Federal Signal from May 1992 to January 2006, focusing on the design of refuse truck bodies and specialized applications, with expertise in structural design for high load compaction. Jim holds a Master of Science in Agricultural Engineering from South Dakota State University, awarded between 1979 and 1986.
