Dimitrios Ioannou has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Starting in 1997 at Cyra Technologies, they worked as a Sr. Software Engineer, where they developed software for automatic segmentation of 3D point-clouds and planar, cylindrical, and spherical surfaces. In 2000, they joined InVision Technologies as a Software Engineer. Moving on to GE Security in 2005, they worked as a Sr. Algorithm Engineer, where they were involved in the software development lifecycle and provided input for explosive detection systems. Dimitrios Ioannou received their PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Florida, where they studied from 1991 to 1996. Dimitrios pursued further education by obtaining an MBA from Santa Clara University, studying from 2006 to 2008. Prior to these degrees, Dimitrios Ioannou earned a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, although the specific dates of their enrollment are not provided.

In addition to their formal education, Dimitrios Ioannou obtained a certification in Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in August 2019.
