Claire Sutton is an experienced archivist currently serving with the City of Ottawa since July 2015, where responsibilities include the appraisal and acquisition of valuable records, as well as leading archival services and policy development. Prior roles encompass positions such as Associate Archivist and Archives Assistant, with a focus on making archival collections accessible through research and analysis. Claire gained additional experience as a volunteer Archives Assistant at the Canadian Museum of Nature and has a background in marketing and project management from bv02. Prior to this, Claire worked as a writer and editor, served on the board at the Harcourt House Artist Run Centre, and held fundraising roles at major arts organizations including the Art Gallery of Alberta and McCord Museum. Claire holds a Master’s Degree from The Courtauld Institute of Art, as well as bachelor's degrees in Art History and English Literature from McGill University, and a certificate in Archives and Records Management from Algonquin College.
