Our Future Health is looking for an experienced Senior Scientific Programme Manager to support the Strategic Partnerships Team. You will work closely with central government and UKRI to deliver the government funding that co-funds this world-leading and high-profile research programme. The role provides the opportunity to manage a range of activities across the programme management lifecycle from negotiating new funding agreements, leading the monitoring, evaluation, and end of grant reporting. 

The Senior Scientific Programme Manager will also play an active role working across the organisation to lead the group scoping and developing funding proposals to win the new investment, both government and non-government, required to grow the functionality and research capability of Our Future Health.

What you’ll be doing  

In this role, your key responsibilities will entail providing scientific programme management support including:  

Delivering a robust process for developing and submitting bids for additional funding:

  • Managing the establishment and administration of the ‘Funding Development Group.
  • Leading the work programme of a sub-group of the ‘Funding Development Group’ responsible for the development of funding business cases.
  • Ensuing the development of the scientific elements of the case for support/ rationale/ scientific objectives .
  • Working across the group to ensure the deliverables, resources and costings are realistic and consider OFH priorities and resources.
  • Seeking advice and sign-off from the Executive team as needed.
  • Supporting, and leading on elements of the funder reporting and monitoring.
  • Lead the regular collation of updates against upcoming deliverables and milestones (e.g. monthly) in preparation for quarterly monitoring report. At the end of each quarter, complete of the all the required reporting elements with input from the delivery team and Work Package Leads.
  • Lead a regular collation of metrics and requested papers as requested for Funder Advisory Groups. Liaise across teams and complete sign-off from appropriate Executive Members or their delegates.

Developing Scientific Delivery Plans and Milestones:

  • Support the development of the detailed delivery plans and funding milestones required by the funder to cover the scope of the funded project.  The delivery plan forms the basis of the monitoring report required by funders.
