Alec Brewer has a diverse range of work experience, starting in 2015 as an Umpire for Larkfield Little League. In 2016, they worked as a Consulting Assistant for Roebell Painting Co Inc. In 2017, they served as a Landscaper for Ted McCarthy Designers and Builders and as the VP of Operations and Recruitment for FINDI. In 2018, they worked as a Bartender for Ridgewells Catering. In 2019, they took on the role of Virginia iGEM 2019 CFO for the iGEM Competition. In 2020, they held multiple positions, including Co-Founder and CEO of Ourobio (Transfoam LLC), Head of Media and Outreach for the Americas at iGEM EPIC, and Co-Founder and Advisor at Refurnished.
Alec Brewer attended Chaminade High School from 2013 to 2017 and received a High School Diploma. Alec then pursued further education at the University of Virginia from 2017 to 2021, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biomedical Engineering.
