Previously, Rainer held the position of Director of iNtaba community development at Blue Quantum Developments from January 2006 to December 2008, focused on property development. Rainer founded Ovations Group in 1998 and grew the company from a small team to 55 personnel before taking a non-executive role until rejoining as Managing Director in 2009. Rainer's earlier experience includes serving as Technical Director and co-owner of Symmetry, catering to enterprise solutions, and various software engineering roles at companies such as Transkei Development Corp., Systegram, and United Building Society. Education includes attendance at Milner High School and van Zyl & Pritchard.
