Katherine R. Lahnstein

Katherine R. Lahnstein is currently serving as the Deputy Associate General Counsel at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation since July 2023. Prior to this role, Lahnstein held the position of General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at SEAF from October 2015 to July 2023, where responsibilities included providing legal guidance to the Board of Directors and overseeing the creation and management of global corporate entities related to SME investments in emerging markets. Lahnstein's extensive legal experience also encompasses roles as an associate at multiple law firms focusing on intellectual property litigation, as well as consulting on investment agreements and SEC matters. Lahnstein holds a JD from the University of Georgia School of Law, a Master's degree in International Relations and Affairs from American University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Affairs and Biology from the University of Virginia.
