Alban de La Sablière currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Business Officer at Owkin since October 2022. Prior to this role, Alban held various senior positions at Sanofi from January 2016 to October 2022, including Head of Sanofi Partnering, where responsibilities included overseeing a $250 million VC fund, business development and licensing, alliance management, and competitive intelligence, reporting directly to the CEO. Alban also served as Global Head of Business Development & Licensing and Global Head of M&A, playing a key role in revitalizing Sanofi's M&A strategy and executing significant acquisitions and disposals. Previously, from 1997 to December 2015, Alban was a Managing Director and Head of French M&A at Morgan Stanley, providing advisory services on major corporate and private equity M&A transactions. Alban is an alumnus of HEC Paris, graduating between 1992 and 1996.

Owkin was co-founded in 2016 by Thomas Clozel, MD, a clinical research doctor and former assistant professor in clinical hematology, and by Gilles Wainrib, Ph.D., an academic pioneer in the field of Artificial Intelligence in biology.
