Hubert Chaperon is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in growth, operations, and strategy within the biotechnology and life sciences sectors. As Chief Growth Officer at Owkin since October 2020, Hubert leads the MOSAIC Program, a $50M initiative focused on developing the world's largest spatial multiomics dataset in oncology. Prior to this role, Hubert held various leadership positions at Zymergen from February 2015 to September 2020, including Chief Operating Officer and Director of Strategy & Corporate Development, where efforts revolved around commercialization and product development. Hubert's earlier experiences also include roles at Corbion, Match.com, Amyris Inc, and as a Research Assistant at MIT. Hubert holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Certificate in Management of Technology from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a Master's degree in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics from École Polytechnique.

Owkin has raised over $70M from leading VC funds and is now working with the most prominent cancer centers and pharmaceutical companies in Europe and the US. Additionally, Owkin leads several federated learning consortia, including; MELLODDY, to facilitate 'co-opetive' drug discovery between pharma companies, and Healthchain, to allow collaborative research across multiple hospitals. Owkin was co-founded in 2016 by Thomas Clozel, MD, a clinical research doctor and former assistant professor in clinical hematology, and by Gilles Wainrib, Ph.D., an academic pioneer in the field of Artificial Intelligence in biology.
