Thomas also supported senior scientists in automated RNA extraction and RT-qPCR.
In April 2021, Thomas joined Novogene Europe as a Molecular Biology Lab Technician. In this role, they conducted manual and automated library preparation for clinical, research, and pharmaceutical client samples. Thomas performed nucleic acid isolation, purification, and amplification for sequencing using Illumina Next-Generation Sequencing while ensuring sample and assay level quality control. Thomas worked to maintain ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation and implemented 5S management. Their role at Novogene Europe ended in October 2021.
Thomas is currently working as a Development Scientist at Oxford Nanopore Technologies since September 2022.
Thomas Doyle completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Plymouth, where they studied from 2016 to 2020. Thomas then pursued their Master of Research (MRes) degree in Big Data Biology at the University of Southampton from 2021 to 2022. In addition to their formal education, Thomas obtained a certification in Good Clinical Practice from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) in October 2021.
