Chevon Thorpe

Chevon Thorpe, Ph.D., CDE®, currently serves as the inaugural Assistant Dean of Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity at Virginia Tech's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, overseeing strategic planning, policy development, and recruitment for a diverse community of 5,000 constituents. Previous roles include Director of the George Washington Carver Graduate Assistantship Program and Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at Virginia Tech, where Chevon led classes and conducted research. Chevon's extensive experience in academia is complemented by a history of promoting diversity and inclusion, exemplified by the role as Senior Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the same college. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech, along with a background in undergraduate research and teaching.
