Jim Goetz’ current areas of interest include mobile and enterprise companies. He has helped create and grow a number of technology companies and product lines to market-leading positions both as an entrepreneur and as an investor. He currently leads Sequoia’s investments in Carbon 3D, Chartboost, Drawbridge, Metaswitch, Palo Alto Networks, Pocket Gems, and Versa. He was previously on the boards of AdMob (GOOG), Barracuda (CUDA), Clearwell (SYMC), Dash (RIM), eMeter (SI), Entrisphere (ERIC), Jive (JIVE), Nimble Storage (NMBL), PeakStream (GOOG), Peribit (JNPR), Rhapsody (BRCD), and Ruckus Wireless (RKUS), and involved with Bluecoat (BCSI), Karma (FB), Timetra (ALU), and TopSpin (CSCO).
Prior to joining Sequoia Capital, Jim served as a general partner at Accel Partners. In 1996, he co-founded VitalSigns Software (ALU), where he assembled and led the team that pioneered end-user performance management with Net.Medic and application performance market with VitalSuite. Prior to VitalSigns, Jim was the vice president of Network Management for Bay Networks (Synoptics).
