James Mitchell

Head of Strategy at Pandion

James Mitchell is the current Head of Strategy at Pandion. Prior to this, they spent three years at Amazon as the Head of Strategy & Cargo Revenue Business Development for Amazon Air. In this role, James led Amazon Air's program to commercialize spare aircraft capacity, and also oversaw the company's operation to move 1.1 million cubic feet of COVID-19 supplies across the United States in Spring 2020.

Before joining Amazon, James was the Director of Corporate Development & Strategy at Algeco Scotsman Group. In this role, they were responsible for writing key business documents, including the 2017 and 2018 Peak Readiness Documents, the 2018 and 2019 Operations Plans, and weekly, monthly, and quarterly Business Reviews.

James has a proven track record in leading strategy and development teams in high-pressure environments. James is a skilled communicator and an expert in data analysis, which has helped him excel in their roles at both Amazon and Algeco Scotsman Group.

James Mitchell has a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Rice University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.

James Mitchell reports to Scott Ruffin, Founder & CEO. James Mitchell works with Albert Silva - Head of Transportation, Jeffrey Petersen - SVP, and Viplav Mishra - VP, Engineering.
