James (Pete) Owens possesses extensive experience in management and operations, particularly in distribution and production. Currently serving as Distribution Manager at Panolam Surface Systems since July 2007, Owens oversees logistics, customer service, inventory control, order fulfillment, and safety processes. Prior to this role, Owens held managerial positions at Four Winds International, UFP Industries, Banks Lumber Co, and Marsh Industries, where responsibilities included production management of various building materials. Early in a career that began in the US Navy focusing on advanced electronics, Owens also worked as a private contractor in painting and drywall finishing. Educational qualifications include a GED and specialized training in Lean Manufacturing, ergonomic design guidelines, and various management certifications from several institutions.
