Soumyashree Omprakash Sahoo has a diverse work experience spanning over different organizations and roles.
Starting in 2009, Sahoo worked as a Business Development Manager at Ripplesoft Private Limited. In this role, they were responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans, driving marketing communications, and exploring new clients and business opportunities.
In 2011, Sahoo became a Youth for India Fellow at SBI Youth for India. During this fellowship, they worked with the partner NGO MS Swaminathan Research Foundation, implementing a poverty eradication program. They also formed farmers' groups, facilitated agricultural linkages, and united farmers and wholesalers for direct marketing activities.
In 2012, Sahoo joined the Ministry of Rural Development as a Prime Minister's Rural Development Fellow. This role lasted till 2015 and involved working on rural development initiatives.
From 2016 to 2018, Sahoo worked as a Programme Officer at the Ministry of Rural Development.
Finally, in 2018, Sahoo joined Paradeep Phosphates as the Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility. In 2022, they were promoted to the role of Chief Manager in the same department.
Soumyashree Omprakash Sahoo completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Marketing from Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha between 2007 and 2009. SOUMYASHREE OMPRAKASH then pursued an MSc in Development Practice with a focus on Rural Development from Tata Institute of Social Sciences from 2014 to 2016.

Paradeep Phosphates Limited (PPL) is one of India's largest private sector phosphatic companies, producing a wide range of phosphatic grades including DAP, N-10, N-12, N-14, N-19, N-20 and N-28. The Company’s Goa Plant also produces Urea. PPL is a key supplier of fertilizers to the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Odisha, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. The Company is also a major supplier of various industrial products like Phospho gypsum, Zypmite, Hydrofluorosilicic Acid (HFSA) and Sulphuric Acid. In May 2022, PPL successfully completed a Rs. 1,500 Cr initial public offering (IPO) and used part of the proceeds to complete the acquisition of the 1.2 million MT fertilizer plant at Goa. PPL’s current promoter, “Zuari Maroc Phosphates Pvt Ltd”, is a 50:50 joint venture between Zuari Agrochemicals and the OCP Group of Morocco. PPL currently has a total capacity of 3 million MT, of which 0.4 million MT is Urea and the remaining 2.6 million MT is phosphatic fertilisers. The Company has two manufacturing facilities, one at Paradeep in Odisha and another at Zuarinagar, Goa. The company's products are marketed under the brand names of "Jai Kisaan" and "Navratna" with over four decades of brand equity. In FY 23, the company has a customer base of 8+ million farmers spread across 16 states.
