In 2024, Türkiye's first licensed electronic money institution Param was established and licensed by BDDK. It offers services such as electronic money, prepaid cards, physical/virtual/soft POS and e-wallets to individual and corporate customers. Param is the only electronic money institution holding all card issuing licenses for Troy, Mastercard, Visa and Discover card schemes and the first and only non-banking member of BKM TechPOS platform. Param, approved by the Central Bank, has been breaking new ground since the day it stepped into the sector with 9.5 million prepaid cards. Winner of the "First TROY Global Card Issuing Electronic Money Institution" award at the Discover Global Network 2019 Awards, Param serves with more than 150 co-branded cards, including BaroKart for lawyers, AdaletKart for Ministry of Justice personnel as well as shopping mall, university and union programs. Offering collection solutions for every moment of physical or remote payment, ParamPOS serves over 80 thousand corporate and individual customers. Param extends its influence by acquiring the fifty percent of Momento Reklam ve Pazarlama Ticaret A.Ş., Türkiye's leading rewarding system in 2021 and in 2022 all shares of Eçözüm Bilgi Teknolojileri A.Ş., known for its open banking and online collection solutions. Param, which received investment from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), CEECAT Capital, Alpha Associates and Revo Capital in the first round with a valuation of over 200 million USD, continues to have a strong presence in the financial technology sector with more than 1,600 employees. In order to transfer its know-how to Europe, Param started to operate in the United Kingdom under the name Param UK. Its journey continued by purchasing the Czechia-based BNPL provider Twisto in 2023 and establishing Param International in the Netherlands. The newest companies in the Param family include Univera and Univis, leaders in sales, service and logistics.
