Stephen Lai is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the technology and engineering sectors. Currently serving as the Manager of Drilling Systems at Pason since November 2012, Stephen leads a team focused on developing automation and analytics algorithms for oil and gas drilling rigs, specializing in control systems, signal processing, data analytics, and machine learning. An adjunct professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Calgary from 2013 to 2016, Stephen's previous roles include leading a 12-person algorithm design team at Nortel Networks and contributing to various engineering positions in startups such as Innovance Networks and Centerpoint Broadband Technologies. Stephen holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Calgary and a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta.
