Haichao Zhang is a dedicated individual with a diverse range of experiences in the field of research, art, and volunteer work. Currently working as a Research Assistant at McMaster University's Bat Lab and Rutherford Human Development Lab, Haichao is also the President of McMaster's Design and Art Association. With a degree in Biology and Psychology, Haichao has been actively involved in various volunteering roles, including tutoring at Pathways to Education Canada, volunteering at Brain Injury Services of Hamilton and North Hamilton Community Access Centre, and participating in COPE McMaster. Haichao has also contributed as a Creative Arts Program Volunteer at Alzheimer Society Peel and as a Camp Counselor at Chinese Literacy Summer Camp.

Its award-winning program is creating positive social change by supporting youth living in low-income communities to overcome barriers to education, graduate from high school, and build the foundation for a successful future. Through the collective power of partnerships, Pathways to Education’s innovative program is preparing youth for tomorrow. Pathways to Education was founded in the Regent Park community in Toronto, Ontario, in 2001, and has expanded to serve 31 low-income communities across eight provinces in Canada.
