Patient Information Forum (PIF)
The Patient Information Forum is the UK membership organisation and network for people working in health information and support. We are the independent voice of UK health information. We run the UK's only quality mark for online and print health information – the PIF TICK. PIF represents more than 300 organisations across the NHS, voluntary, academic, freelance and commercial sectors. Our expert guidance on the production of high-quality health information supports an improved healthcare experience for patients and the public. We help our members to provide high-quality, clearly communicated, evidence-based healthcare information. The aim is to empower people to make informed decisions about their health and improve outcomes. Health information is a therapy in its own right and should be accessible to all. Our strategy is based around four main principles – quality, integration, expertise and impact. PIF is an independent, not-for-profit organisation. Extending our influence and impact is only possible with the support of our members, the relationships we build with like-minded organisations and the services we provide. PIF is governed by a board of non-executive directors and guided by an advisory group of senior information professionals drawn from our membership. Our funding arrangements are transparent and meet the National Voices/ABPI guidance on industry partnership.
