Jun Kai Tan

Jun Kai Tan has a work experience in various companies. Jun Kai started working at Lumileds in 2016 as a Senior Engineer and was later promoted to a Staff Engineer role. In 2020, they joined AI Singapore as an AI Apprentice, where they created an image classification system and achieved high accuracy for local fruits. Currently, Jun Kai Tan is working at PatSnap as a Data Scientist, focusing on NLP models and product features for a new SaaS product in materials research. Jun Kai also leads a team of data engineers and has established systematic methods in prompt engineering.

Jun Kai Tan obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physics from the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Science, from 2012 to 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Physics with minors in Nanoscience and Biophysics from the same institution from 2008 to 2012. Jun Kai completed their secondary education at Hwa Chong Junior College from 2004 to 2005, with a focus on Triple Science. In addition to their academic qualifications, Jun Kai Tan also holds certifications such as Associate AI Engineer from the AI Professionals Association and a Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera.
