Kate S. is a finance professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles within notable organizations. Currently serving as Head of Finance at the Paul Hamlyn Foundation since April 2019, Kate has previously held positions such as Financial Controller and Finance Manager at The National Gallery from November 2012 to March 2019, and Finance Director at the Philharmonia Orchestra in 2016. Early career experience includes working as a Corporate Finance Executive at CV Capital LLP and as an Audit Trainee at Chantrey Vellacott DFK, where responsibilities included auditing and financial reporting. Kate’s educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Arts & Heritage Management from The University of Sheffield and a BA in Maths & Music from the University of Birmingham.

Paul Hamlyn Foundation was established by Paul Hamlyn in 1987. Upon his death in 2001, he left most of his estate to the Foundation, creating one of the largest grant-making foundations in the UK. Our mission is to help people overcome disadvantage and lack of opportunity, so that they can realise their potential and enjoy fulfilling and creative lives. We have a particular interest in supporting young people and a strong belief in the importance of the arts. We launched our current UK strategy in June 2015.
