Liz Winder is a seasoned finance and operations professional with extensive experience in leadership roles across various organizations. Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at the Paul Hamlyn Foundation since September 2023, Liz previously held the same position at the Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales from October 2018 to September 2023. Liz's background includes working as Head of Finance and Operations at Pennies and leading Finance Improvement Projects at Macmillan Cancer Support for over a decade. Earlier in their career, Liz served in finance management roles at St Vincent de Paul and Sayer Vincent, following a foundation as a Chartered Accountant. Liz holds a Master of Arts degree in Arts and Heritage Management from The University of Sheffield and a Bachelor of Music from King's College London.

Paul Hamlyn Foundation was established by Paul Hamlyn in 1987. Upon his death in 2001, he left most of his estate to the Foundation, creating one of the largest grant-making foundations in the UK. Our mission is to help people overcome disadvantage and lack of opportunity, so that they can realise their potential and enjoy fulfilling and creative lives. We have a particular interest in supporting young people and a strong belief in the importance of the arts. We launched our current UK strategy in June 2015.
