Joel McCarthy

Joel McCarthy has a diverse work experience in the environmental and industrial hygiene fields. Joel began their career at Air Pollution Testing, Inc in 2005 as a Project Manager, where they managed teams and conducted EPA air emissions testing for industrial sources. From 2007 to 2008, they worked as a Project Scientist at GEI Consultants, Inc., acting as a site lead for a community air monitoring program. Joel then joined Precision Environmental, Inc. as an Industrial Hygienist, performing assessments and sampling for various environmental factors. In 2010, they worked as an Assistant Manager at Sid's Bikes, managing a busy bike shop and providing excellent customer service. Joel later worked as an Industrial Hygienist at PCA Health and Safety Consultants and as an EHS Coordinator at Portland Public Schools. Joel then joined PBS Engineering and Environmental in 2016, where they held various roles including Industrial Hygienist/Project Manager and Senior Industrial Hygiene Project Manager/Education Market Sector Lead. Throughout their career, Joel has demonstrated strong skills in project management, air emissions monitoring, and environmental assessments.

Joel McCarthy attended the University of Colorado Boulder from 2000 to 2004, during which they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental, Populational, and Organismic Biology.
