Phil White is an accomplished leader in cybersecurity and technology, currently serving as the Director of Benchmarks and Benchmarks Development Team Manager at the Center for Internet Security since September 2018. In this role, Phil leads a team dedicated to creating widely used security configuration standards through global collaboration with security experts. Additionally, Phil has been a member of the Board of Advisors for the PCI Security Standards Council since January 2020. Previous experience includes significant positions at Assured Information Security, Inc. as Program Manager and Principal Investigator, and various roles in product management and development at Holonics, Xsilogy, and Plant Equipment Inc., among others. Phil's educational background includes a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Union College and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Wayne State University.

PCI Security Standards Council is an open global forum responsible for the development, management, education, and awareness of the PCI Security Standards, including the Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS), and PIN Transaction Security (PTS) requirements. The Council's five foundingglobal payment brands are American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard, and Visa Inc. They have agreed to incorporate the PCI DSS as the technical requirements of each of their data security compliance programs. Each founding member also recognizes the QSAs, PA-QSAs, and ASVs certified by the PCI Security Standards Council. PCI Security Standards Council was founded in 2006 and is based in Wakefield, Massachusetts.
