Nikolai Sookal

Nikolai Sookal is a Senior Quantitative Researcher at PEAK6 since October 2021, with previous experience as a Senior Quant at the National Futures Association from June 2017 to October 2021, overseeing the approval and monitoring of quantitative models for regulated member firms across diverse asset classes. Prior to that, Nikolai worked as a Quantitative Research Associate at Axioma Inc. from March 2015 to June 2017, where research and backtesting of factor models contributed to the firm’s portfolio construction and risk management solutions. Nikolai began a career as an Actuarial Analyst at Bacon Woodrow & deSouza Ltd in 2012, forecasting contributions and liabilities for pension plans in Trinidad and Tobago. Academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge (2009-2012) and a Master’s Degree in Mathematical Finance from Rutgers University (2013-2015).
