Richard has made a career of taking outdated processes and creating optimized solutions to drive business decisions. He was a major contributor to the development of a shop floor product tracking system for one of the world's largest paper manufacturing and distribution companies. Richard earned his Eagle Scout and was proficient at designing and implementing both hardware and software systems before graduating with a B.S. degree in Computer Information Systems from Kennesaw State University.

Pearl Street Technologies, Inc. is based in Pittsburgh, PA and backed by the National Science Foundation, ARPA-E, the Department of Energy, and Incite Labs, they are building tools to make the grid more reliable, more secure, and greener. They development activities include software for grid planning with high renewable penetration, parallelized optimization tools to find the most cost and energy efficient dispatch of grid resources, and solutions to detect targeted cyber attacks on the grid.
