Marjo Johanna Kurkela

Marjo Johanna Kurkela has extensive work experience in various finance and controlling roles. Marjo Johanna served as the Head of Controlling and Controller at Pelastakaa Lapset ry - Save the Children Finland from October 2019 to present. Prior to that, they worked as a Finance Manager at Gerako Oy from November 2014 to October 2019. Marjo Johanna also has experience as an Operations Manager at aidha, a social enterprise in Singapore offering financial education, from March 2013 to March 2014. Marjo has a background in non-profit organizations as well, having served as a Training Manager and Fundraising Manager at Stepping Stones China from November 2010 to June 2012. Before that, they held the position of Finance Controller at Eitzen Group from June 2007 to May 2009. Marjo's early career includes a role as a Business Controller, Chairman of the Board, and co-owner at Nordic Veeners Oy, a wood manufacturing company, from June 1998 to October 2006.

Marjo Johanna Kurkela completed their education with a Master's degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Fudan University in 2012. Their field of study during their time at Fudan University was BI Fudan MBA15. Prior to that, they pursued a Master's degree in Science in Forest Economy from the University of Helsinki. Marjo Johanna completed their degree in 1998, with a specialization in Social Economics of Forestry.
