Derek Tang

Derek Tang currently serves as Senior Legal Managing Director for Intellectual Property & Product at Peloton Interactive since November 2023. Prior to this role, Derek worked at Spotify from September 2016 to November 2023 as Senior Counsel for Litigation and IP, overseeing the development and protection of the company's global intellectual property portfolio and managing various legal strategies. Derek gained litigation experience as a Senior Associate at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP from September 2011 to August 2016, focusing on trade secret, copyright, and patent issues, among others. Earlier career experiences include an Associate position at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, and roles as a Mobile Design Researcher, UI Designer, and Researcher. Derek holds a JD from Columbia Law School, an MS from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, an MEng in Computer Science, and a BS in Computer Science from MIT.
