Ashley Hartman has extensive work experience in the oil and gas industry. From 1996 to 2001, they worked for Conwest and AEC West as a Plant Operator and T/A Unit Op. Ashley then joined Shell as a Sulphur Plant CSU Operator for a brief period before working at AEC as a Senior Plant Operator and T/A Lead Op. In 2003, they started working for Encana Corporation, where they held various roles including Lead Operator and Senior Lead Operator. Ashley joined Veresen Midstream in 2012 as a Senior Lead Operator and T/A Lead. In 2016, they moved to Veresen Inc. and worked on the Burstall Ethane Cavern Project as the CSU/Site HSE Lead and Plant Manager. Ashley then worked at Pembina Pipeline Corporation as Steeprock Operations, Shift Lead and Burstall NGL Storage Project/Operations, Shift Lead - Day Foreman, where they were responsible for optimizing facilities, implementing safety programs, and managing budgets.

Ashley Hartman attended Sexsmith Secondary School in an unknown year and completed courses in Physics 30, Chemistry 30, Biology 30, Math 30, and English 30. Following high school, they pursued a degree in Power Engineering/Gas Plant Operating at Northwestern Polytechnic from 1995 to 1996. They obtained a 2nd Class Power Engineer - ABSA/BCSA certificate, with prior certificates in 3rd Class/4th Class.
