Tom Downey has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Tom began their career at RSA, where they held various roles over a 19-year period, including Director of MGAs & Delegated Schemes and Operations and Change Director, Global Specialty Lines. At RSA, they achieved significant premium growth and led key IT projects. In 2014, Downey joined Pen Underwriting UK as MD Pen Specialty, where they developed and executed the company's Specialty Lines strategy. Tom later served as the Chief Underwriting Officer before being appointed as the Chief Executive Officer in 2020. As CEO, they provide strategic leadership and is focused on achieving the company's goal of becoming a £1 billion Underwriting and Distribution business.
Tom Downey attended Ulster University, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Combined Sciences. Additionally, they also attended Cranfield School of Management, although no specific degree or field of study information is provided for this institution.
