Construction Operations Lead at Pennecon

Greg Smith has extensive work experience in various roles within the construction and oil and gas industries. Greg started their career in the Canadian navy as a Stoker from 1988 to 1991. Greg then worked as a Dimensional Control Surveyor for Fugro from 1996 to 2003, where they were involved in construction and maintenance work on oil and gas platforms. From 2003 to 2012, they held multiple positions at North Atlantic Refining Limited, including Project Manager, T/A Superintendent, Ops Supervisor, Engineering Coordinator, and Pipe Designer. During this time, they managed various capital projects. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as a Project Manager at Kiewit-Kvaerner Contractors, responsible for prefabrication of piping systems for the Hebron Gravity Base Structure. Since 2015, they have been the Construction Operations Lead at Pennecon, overseeing various projects in the mining, power, oil, and gas sectors.

Greg Smith obtained a Masters Certificate in Project Management from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2012. Prior to that, they completed a degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology with a focus on Surveying Technology/Surveying from the College of the North Atlantic, spanning from 1991 to 1994.
